Design Reviews
Design Reviews promotes design excellence.
South Australia’s Design Review programs are headed by the South Australian Government Architect. There are currently two programs: the Office for Design and Architecture SA (ODASA) Design Review Program and the Capital City Design Review Panel.
While distinct programs, both are committed to promoting and supporting design excellence in our state.
ODASA Design Review Program
Formed in 2011, through the Integrated Design Commission SA, this program will continue under ODASA in 2013. The ODASA Design Review Program is a voluntary design review process that reviews significant development proposals throughout the State, and those projects that do not meet the Capital City Design Review Panel criteria.

Capital City Design Review Panel
In April 2012 the Minister for Planning introduced a new policy framework for development in the City of Adelaide. As part of these policy and assessment improvements, the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) is offering a new pre-lodgement service to proponents of development proposals over $10 million in the Adelaide City Council area.
An essential part of the DPTI pre-lodgment process is the role of the Capital City Design Review Panel (CCDRP), which has been established to assist the South Australian Government Architect in discharging referral responsibilities to the DAC; providing independent, expert advice on the design quality of development applications.
